Who can volunteer?

Essentially anyone can volunteer but those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. Anyone over the age of 12 are welcome to volunteer by themselves, but if difficulties arise with a youth a guardian will be asked to supervise.

  • Criminal record check

Before you can begin volunteering everyone over the age of 14, including adult supervisors, must provide a recent criminal record check. Being that we are a children’s attraction a criminal record check is essential to assure the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff members. You can acquire a letter at our front donation table that will waive the fee required by your local police department. Once the check has been completed you may bring it to the farm and begin your volunteering.

  • Medical Information Form

We require all our volunteers to complete an medical information sheet which includes general information, medical information we should be aware of and emergency contacts to ensure the safety of our volunteers. You can acquire a information sheet at our front donation table.

    all information will remain confidential

When do you need volunteers?

When you volunteer is dependent on your own schedule, you may choose the dates and times which best suite you. We keep a calender in our office where you are encouraged to record the date and time you are next available to volunteer, this provides us with the ability to prepare our day around that schedule. If we happen to have an overabundance of volunteers one day we ask that, if your schedule allows for it, you consider choosing another day. We also recommend that newer volunteers keep their daily volunteering to only a few hours.

What jobs do volunteers do?

The list of farm chores can change on a day-to-day basis. Regular jobs include barn cleaning, raking and helping out in our goat petting area. We like take into consideration everyone’s abilities and comforts in the jobs they do, if a volunteer has a question or concern we encourage them to speak with a staff member.
