The following post is an archive of our GoFundMe campaign which began in 2020.
Hello everyone,
Last week we had a lovely surprise that I would like to share with you. In the middle of our normal daily routine of taking care of the animals as well as trying to make some plans a large donation cheque was dropped of with one of the staff. When I went down to the fence to thank the donor in person I learned the story behind this donation, a story that shows how divers and innovative the community supporting the farm is.
Here it is for you: Gareth Gaudin is a local artist, an award-winning cartoonist, and he came up with a very creative idea to help the animals and the farm. He created a series of animals drawings (which in itself is already amazing!) and then he proceeded to auction them off. The drawings are beautiful and unique pieces of art that capture the essence of different animals. They hint at their real personalities and they simply look very cute.
The timing of this donation was just perfect as it gave us a break from all the work and worries during these uncertain times with all their unknown challenges. Seeing what the community does on different levels to help the farm is really heartwarming and lifted our spirits. We are so very grateful to Gareth that he had the time, creativity, energy and passion to compose these wonderful drawings and then made such a generous choice in not selling them for himself but instead to raise money for the farm. Our Thanks also goes out to all the people who bought the drawings. You now own a unique and wonderful piece of art and along the way you’ve supported the animals and the farm. Through Gareth’s creative work and all the buyers the amazing amount of $826.60 CAD was raised. THANK YOU!
And as always, thank you all for supporting the animals and the farm.
Stay safe,
Claudia
