Goat Fund Us: Update #53

Hello everyone,

The farm has now been open for over a month, we had a really good start to this season. To get this little but special place ready to open up to visitors again, we did a lot of clean up, renovation and improvements and what feels like endless hours of last minute chores.

Now I’d like to give a look into Rosie’s life again. Another year has gone by, we’ve just celebrated this unique, loving, smart and head strong goat turning 5 years – she is a real grownup even though for me she will always be this lost little kid that just needed warmth, food and love – just really needed a mum.

Goat Fund Us: Update #46

Hello everyone,

Our season has started and the farm has been open for more than a month – time simply flies. People often ask “how is it going?” and there is no easy answer to this. It is going “a lot” but the important thing is that we are always going forward. Each year getting this precious place ready for opening seems like a tremendously big undertaking, a tall mountain to climb with many steep steps just before the summit, but the team – strong with experienced staff and reinforced by new very motivated staff – stood together and we got there.
It felt great to open up, the first few days always feel like welcoming old familiar faces back and swapping stories about the past months. It was really awesome to see you all again.
There are several new things at the farm, but I’ll tell you about those next time.

I would like to use this update to tell you about Rosie’s adventures and accomplishments in 2024. This month Rosie is going to turn four and for me that is a great opportunity to look back at her eventful year.

Hello again everyone,

In my last update and the look back onto 2023 I didn’t tell you anything about Rosie’s year and this is very unusual for my stories – A year without Rosie? By now, I can’t even imagine my life without Rosie: this unique, smart and strong, true and loyal, curious and brave little girl who proves over and over again that she is ready to master all of life’s challenges makes my life complete.

Goat Fund Us: Update #42

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a good start into the summer and that it will be a fun and relaxing time for all of us.
The farm has been just buzzing and hopefully this buzz will just keep going the entire summer: lots of visitors – locals and tourists of any age groups and background, new volunteers and new staff – lots of learning and teaching and our daily spiel through all the animal care and always doing our absolute best for them.

This story I’m going to tell you today is a little different than most of the others because it still has an open end. We don’t know yet where it’s going to lead and I can only keep going on and fill this uncertainty with hope. Never give up hope!

Goat Fund Us: Update #32 & Looking back onto 2021

Hello everyone,
I hope you all got to spend a pleasant and safe holiday season, and kept warm and cozy during the unusually cold weather and now I would like to wish all of you a good start into the new year 2022. Looking back on this past year, I find it difficult to determine what the overall sentiment might be. It was certainly a very full year – filled with challenges, difficulties, loss and a lot of resulting stress, but at the same time also an overabundance of many little and some big moments and experiences filled with happiness, joy, smiles, hope, encouragement, friendship, team spirit and being part of a great community. And all these put together allowed us to balance and overcome any obstacles facing us. Your ongoing, generous and unconditional support along with all your positive and reassuring comments are a very big part of this and always helped us to keep going. Thank you for helping to make this past year a good one!

Goat Fund Us: Update #29

This feels rather weird as I’m about to give you the last update for this campaign and it also feels a little bit like goodbye – but in a good way. The farm is now open again to the public, even while we are still keeping some restrictions in place that we review constantly to decide when to loosen up or lift some of them.

My apologies, it’s been a really long time since you heard from us. I actually started to write this update around the May long weekend, and I almost had it finished, but then “life just happened” and I got totally sidetracked by the normal “craziness” on the farm and in particular by the very intensive care for our little special goat Rosemary.

Goat Fund Us: Update #25 & Goodbye Alexis

Time for an update from the animals and the farm. These past two weeks have just been especially busy, unexpected and full. But first I like to welcome many new donors and followers to our fundraising campaign and I’m sending out a big THANK YOU to all of you for supporting us through all this time. It’s been now well over 13 months that the farm has been closed and just more than a year since we’ve started this fundraiser. It feels like quite the journey we all went on together.
